They polled a heavy vote against the Sierra College override tax for school construction purposes, and heard on radio that an even heavier vote in favor of the tax hike in Placer County. had apparently more than offset Nevada and Sierra County deficits. There weren't too many other surprises, but then what can one ask for a relatively short primary ballot? TheRockefeller delegation vote in Nevada County was a distinct upset. He carried the county against Goldwater, 2207-2050. The victory here indicated a local groundswell for the New York governor.
