recently united in marriage
in the Methodist Church,
Colfax, by the Reverend Mc
Caskey.
The shies is the daughter
of Mr.
Grass Valley. She is a graduate of the Nevada Union
High School withthe class of
1959, and the Romar Beauty
College of Marysville.
The groom is the son of
LouisM. Salvitelli and Mrs.
Mary Scarborough of Pueblo,
Colo. He graduated in 1956
from Central High School,
Pueblo, Colo.

The bride was lovely in a
gown of hand clipped chantilly lace and nylon tulle,
underscored with ruffled net
and taffeta. The scalloped
neckline was highlighted
with paillettes and tiny seed
pearls. The bouffant waltz
length tulle skirt was fashioned with a wide band of
lace inset in-a painted design. Her fingertip veil was
held in place by a crown of

roses on a white Bible.
Rhoebie Wright, matron of
honor, and Kay Moore, sister-in-law of-the bride,
Bridesmaid, were gowned alike in pink brocaded satin
with fitted waist and full
skirts and worn with white
lace waist length jackets.

The highlight of the reception was the traditional
cutting of the wedding cake

many from out of town, offered congratulations and

The young couple are now
making their home in Penn
Valley with a delayed honeymoon planned to Colorado in
June.

Kathleen Haley, 304Nevada
Street, Nevada City, was
among the 384 candidates
for the degree of Bachelor of
Arts at Wellesley College.
Weliesley's 83rd annual
commencement took place
on the campus in Wellesley,
Mass. ,.Monday morning,
when degrees were conferred
by Miss Margaret Clapp,
President of the College.
Miss Haley is an art major.
She is a Wellesley College
Scholar, an alternate recipient of the Wellesley College
Trustee Scholarship, and received a Woodrow Wilson
Fellowship for graduate
study next year.

U. S. Army in Kassel,

and is now employed asa
test engineer with the United

The prospective bridegroom
has one sister, Mrs. Jeanne
O'Connell of Honolulu,
Hawaii, and two brothers,
Thomas of Concord and Jack
of Fresno.
The couple are planning
an August wedding.

that Freda Del Porto's arth-'
ritic and diabetic condition
has become so much worse
that she entered Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital
May 17 for treatment. It is
hoped that she may be able
to return home in a couple
of weeks,

Woodland and Sacramento
visitors May 12, going on to
Santa Rosa to spend two days
with relatives.

Jake Hertline, who received an injured eye ata
local mill the previous
week, was confined’to a
Marysville hospital on
May 19. The injury is rereported to be much more serious than first thought.
Guests at our home the
week of May 22 were Mr.
and Mrs. T,S. McFarland of
Napa and Charlie De Rose of
Martinez,
TheP.T. Club gavea turkey dinner in the school autorium May 24 honoring the
1961 high school graduates
and eighth grade graduates.
Other guests wete the young
people's parents, teachers
and school board members.
The tables were beautifully
decorated with roses, iris and
snowballs. Charles Coupe,
District Supervisior and Judge
Action M. Cleveland were
speakers for the occassion.

home May 21 were:-Colin's
mother, Mrs. Laura King of
Capitola; his brother, Richard King of San Francisco;
hisuncle, Dr. Sanford Feldman of San Francisco and his
cousin, Susan Pollock of

Ada Jaynes was again confided to a Marysville hospital
on May 22 because of her
heart condition, but was able
to return to.her home here on
the 30th.
Congratulations to the William-Swansons on the birth
of their first child May 27 at
the Sierra Nevada Memorial
Hospital. The new comer
was a little girl, Valerie,
weighing in at six pounds, 14
