Western Welsh Pony Show at the
June 11-19 California State
Horse Fair on the Sacramento
Fairgrounds,
With Welsh activity slated for
June 183 and 19, some 45 Welsh
enthusiasts from California,
Nevada, Idaho and Washington,
D.C, have entered ponies in
ehc competition,

New Timber Sale
Contract Announced
The dirst sale awarded on the
Tahoe National Forest under the
new Timber Sale Contract lias
been announced.
During April at oral auction
held inthe Supervisor's office
in Nevada City, Holstrom I.1inber Company of Sattley, Californria, was awarded the Luiich
Creek Unit on the Sierraville
District.
The sale consisted of 21,000
million board feet of timber,
covered 2110 acres and sold for
$223,600. Other bidders were
Erickson Lumber Company,
Brunswick Timber Products and
Yuba River Lumber Company,
Because of its volume, this sale
was awarded by the Regtonal
Office in San Francisco,
On April 28, at ora! auction
in the Supervisor's office, Yuba
River Lumber Company was high
bidder for 3,200 millica board
feet of timber inthe Castle Unit
on the Big Bend District. This
sale covered 640 acres and sold
for $54,000. Other bidders were
James R. Timber Company,
Brunswick lL.umber Products and
Erickson f.umber Company,
Twenty-five percent of all
timber sale rec cipts are returned
to the counties where the tiimber is harvested from National
Forest lands, These fundé w ill
be used by the counties for
schools and roads, :
