BROWNIE TROOP 68 presented Grass Valley Librarian Rose Geronimi
with two globes and three dictionaries for the children's section of
the library. Funds to purchase the globes and dictionaries were
raised by the Brownies by collecting trading stamps from friends.

the Marin Conservation League
andthe Point Reyes National Seashore Foundation, active in the
Sierra Club, California Council,
California Roadside Council,
California Shoreline Planning
Committee, Nature Conservancy,
National Audubon Society, Marin
Audubon Society, Save-the Red*
woods League, Tamalpais Conservation Club and others.
It is further noted that she has
awarded scholarships at her own
expense to the Audubon Nature
Camps in California and Wyoming
to one or more California State
Park Rangers each year since 1951.
Mrs, Dunshee has been active
and instrumental in supporting or
raising funds for the acquisition of.

At the same meeting it was announced that Harold George, Sr.
of Grass Valley had been chosen
by the Society to be honored as
the man of the year, George,
former teacher, musician, and
leader of Grass Valley's famous
Cornish Carol Choir, willbe honored at a dinner April 9 in the
First Methodist Church in Grass

To Purchase Old Cedar Theater
The Liberal Arts Commission no movies may be shown in the,

night at a meeting of the Commission at city hall, Dr. H. A.
McPherson is heading the negotiation committee which is now
trying to determine the selling
price for the vacant theater.
The Allied Theaters Corporation has already refused a short
term rental plan for the theater
for the proposed theater centennial gala planned by the commission for July.
