Manager Malcolm Hammill reports. Foley and Burke is one of the largest carnival companies in California and will come directly to the local fairgrounds from San Jose where the firm has contracted to provide the carnival for the Santa Clara County Fair. Two spectacular rides will be here August 27 30, the Swiss toboggan and the sky diver. The Swiss toboggan is based on the Matterhorn ride at Disneyland and cost Foley and Burke owners nearly $70,000, Hammill said. In agdition to the spectaculars, the carnival will have 10 major rides, nine rides for small children and a giant slide. The giant slide has five humps which . Larry Wertman, 18 yearsold, saw his first magic show nine years ago, the next day he was at the local library checking out books on magie. Since that time Larry Wertman has been doing magic. In the last five years he has been performing semi-professionally for clubs, schools, fairs, and children's parties, He has also-attended three international conventions of magic, Larry most enjoys performing _ for children.
