Marine Lancé Corporal Jake W. Burt was promoted to his
present rank while serving with the 3rd Marine Division, U.S.
Marine corps Base on Okinawa. He is the son of Mrs. Dorothy D.
Straub of Grass Valley.
Navy Airman Apprentice John R. Hoxsie graduated from
recruit training at the Naval Training Center in Grass Valley. He is
scheduled to report to the Aviation. Antisubmarine Warfare
Operator A School, Millington, Tenn. He is the son of Mrs. Delia D.
Fisher of Grass Valley.
Coast Guard Storekeeper Seaman Kevin L. Peterson, a 1974
graduate of Nevada Union High School, was promoted to his
present rank at the Coast Guard Loran Station, Sitkinak, Alaska.
as is the son of Mrs. Bobbie Dutton of Blue Jay Court in Grass
alley.
Navy Machinist’s Mate Fireman Apprentice Ricky L. Merenda
is taking part in the operational readiness training exercises in the
Indian Ocean as a-crewmember of the nuclear-powered attack
