Editorial Comment: “No good and proper cause in this country
should be fought out with bombs and guns. There is no worthy cause
or principle which requires armed support in Free™ America.
Peaceful judgement and calm reason, if properly invoked, work the
most vexing problems to a solution.”

CHICKEN IMPERIALE
Here’s an absolutely delicious version of seasoned fried
chicken that’s guaranteed to perk up even the most jaded of appetites...try it and see.
INGREDIENTS: 1 cup sour cream mixed with 4 téaspoons
lemon juice, 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce, 1 crushed galic
clove, one teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon paprika, 34 teaspoon oregano,
crushed, and 's teaspoon pepper.
Blend well and place one frying chicken, cut in pieces, in shallow
_ baking pan and pour the sour cream mixture over it, coating each
piece well. Cover and chill for about four hours to blend flavors,
turning chicken often to season evenly. Drain off excess cream
mixture and dip one piece at a time in flour. Brown in fat and
arrange on a rack in a shallow baking pan. Bake, uncovered in 350degree oven 45 minutes, or until tender. Yield is four very generous
servings....and if there’s any left, you made a mistake somewhere
along the line or your family just doesn’t like chicken!

VARIATIONS: Some would prefer this recipe made with one
third cup of good dry sherry wine instead of the lemon juice and
Worcestershire sauce...and it is very tasty that way. Another
switch is to use 1 teaspoon fresh ground nutmeg instead of
paprika...for a decidedly different; ‘‘gourmet”’ touch.
