Locatelli awarded $100,000
A Superior Court jury Monday awarded Adolph Locatelli
$100,000 for injuries allegedly
received in an accident in 1967
during construction of the Nevada City portion of the freeway.
The Chicago Park man originally sought $150,000 from
Granite Construction Company
for the injuries resulting during
construction of the Sacramento
street bridge.
However jurors directed that
payment: of $100,000 be split
between Granite and Thomas
Construction Company, subcontractors for Granite, who
had employed Locatelli, The
formula for the split is to be
worked out.
Norman McPherson was foreman of the jury which deliberated less than four hours before voting 9-3 for the verdict.
Judge Ronald Cameron of Placer county heard the week long
trial. Nathaniel Colley and
M. H. Pothaven represented
Locatelli and Granite. Construction respectively.
