Reverend Robert Noble Will
Leave Trinity Episcopal
The Rev, Robert Noble, Rector
of Trinity Episcopal Church in
Nevada City, will leave the Trinity parish after April30 to take up
the duties of Rector of All Saints
Episcopal Church in Redding.
Rev. Noble came to Trinity
' Episcopal Church in July of 1960.
Since that time, he said, his
emphasis has been on helping
people to become articulate about
their faith, When he came 150
people had been baptized in the
the church and now the figure has
risen to 500.

County Forces Will Repair
Brunswick Road Washout
(Continued from Page 1)
visors Monday she had been informed that the county did not
need a recreation com mission to
be eligible for the minimum
$75,000 available to counties
under the recently passed Proposition One bondissue. Applications
for these funds will be received
until 1969.
The supervisors decided to take
the economy route and have
county road forces repair the
washout on Brunswick Road near
the Brunswick sawmill.
At the last meeting county road
commissioner Bob Graham told ,
the board the gaping hole in the
road which developed during the
heavy winter rains could be repaired in-two ways. It-couldbe
done with state emergency funds
with the county paying approximately $16,000 af tne anticipated
$40,000 job, or county forces
could doa repair job for about
$8,000.
During the earlier discussion it
was suggested that one of the
reasons for the washout which
caused the road to collapse was
seepage under the road froma
Nevada Irrigation ditch. The
county counsel was directed to put
ina damageclaimtothe NID and
Graham was toldtoseeifhe could
get the NID to line the ditch in
this area to eliminate the seepage.
Monday Mrs, Lawrence said she
had filed the damage claim with
the NID, but} had received no
reply.
Because of the shortage of road
money and because of the need
to get the roadrepaired, the
supervisors authorized Graham to
go ahead with the job.
Atthe insistance of Supervisor
Don Blake, the board passed a
resolution of intent indicating
it would do $10, 000 worth of work
next year on the so-called perimeter road in the former Camp
Beale area. Graham had been
asked to negotiate with landowners on acquisition of rights of
way and he told the-supervisors
Monday that he could do little
without some indication that the
county inténdedto go ahead with
the job. He estimated that acquisition, fencing and the paving
ofa one mile strip of land which
is being asked. as a condition of
acceptance by one landowner,
would cost the county $45,000.
Blake pointed out the road would
open new lands to development
andwouldbe good tor tne county
tax rolls.
In other action the supervisors —
Authorized the start of work on
renovation of the present supervisors chambers so that room can
, be used by the building inspector's
staff;
Awarded the contract for renovation of the present superior
court chambers to the new supervisors chambers to low bidder Don
Steger & Son of Nevada City for .
$3,775. 47;
Authorized the road commis=
sioner to make a study of repairing the .road to Lower Scotts Flat
Réservoirsothat’state tank trucks
could reach the area for trout
stocking;
Set 2 p.m. March 16 as the

City maintenance yard. A letter
from District Engineer W.L,
Warrén pointed out that no additional property would be required,
Commissioner Don Fairclough
asked for the use of an agenda for
future meetings. He complained
thatthe commission could not be
expected to act on things which it
had dumped on it the night of the
meeting. Steger said the commission would try out setting up
and mailing out agendas to members in the future.
‘Steger also reported that forms
were being worked out for submitting requests for variances to
the commission, He, city manager Henry Roese and city attorney William Wetherall were also
working on rules of procedure for
the commission, The commission
will write to other cities-to see
what kind of forms they use before making a final draft of the
city variance form. The rules of
procedure are still being studied
and modified.
