Once again the Class of 1983 GV High that part as.
it was in 1929 at the Columbus School when the teachers
were Misses Conlin, Smith, Luther, Kent, Van Orden,
Keleher, and Shoesmith.

The years do go by Belle Tickell, widow of Dr. Alfred Tickell, will be 100 years old in July. Is well and
happy in a GV rest home. Think of all the things that
have happened history-wise {n this world since 1863,
-the year Belle was born, Think of the last 10 years on
second thought don't. Dr. Tickell, the last of Nevada
County's horse and buggy Dr's: Did Dr. Tickell bring
you into this world--perhaps at the NC Sanitarium, It
was Dr. Carl Muller who helped me see the light of day,
hung onto me by the ankles, slapped my backside and
got the first squawk out of me. There have been several
squawks since. I do carry a Dr. Tickell trade mark a
nice neat hemstitching scar after an appendectomy,

Chapter of the American
Field Service is the name of
a new organization being
formed at NU.
The club would have
charge of raising money to
finance a new foreign student, plan welcoming activities and other entertainment for the exchange student during the year, and
help seek volunteer homes
for a new student.
A committee has been appointed to draw up a constitution. The constitution,
after being approved by the
Student AFS chapter, will be
read at three student council

Last Saturday, a Student
Leaders Conference was held
at Sacramento Senior High
School, Each school attending was allowed to bring
30 members from student
council, four of which would
participate in panels--two
toa panel. All delegates
were assigned to a morning
panel and anafternoon
panel. Such panels as Student Government; School
Spirit and Morale; AdvertisingStudent Activities;
School Clubs; and Student
Publications were’ witnessed
by the delegates.
The conference lasted all
day and all who attended
thoroughly enjoyed themselves. A chance was afforded to hear how other
schools handle varied problems thus bringing new
ideas to the front for future
use in student government.
