Grange Hall,
This traditional turkey dinner
is known by many near and far,
and dach year brings old frisnds
of local residents and former
residents back toRough & Ready, —
not only for the delicious dinner
but torenew old acquaintances
and to meet new ones,
The Rough & Ready Grange
Hall was recently purchased
from the Odd Fellows Lodge,
andis over a hundred years
old, Proceeds from the dinner
go toward the restoration and
upkeep of the building,
During the afternoon many
attractive gifts will be given
away. A bake sale of homemade cakes will also be held,

Mrs. Chester (Catherine) Loney of Grass
Valley may be confined to a hospital bed in
the Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital, but she
is smiling and proudly displaying ‘a get well
telegram and large bouquet of flowers just
received from President Lyndon Johnson.
Mrs. Loney was President Johnson's first
grade teacher in:a little school in Stonewall,
Texas. She has visited him and his family at
the LBJ Ranch, attended his inaugurations and
has always bepn in ‘touch with him'since his

Baumgart, President of the Grass Valley Elementary PTA discussthe forthcoming play,
“The Clown That Ran Away". The play is for
kindergarten through 6th grade andis produced
by the Drama Department of Sierra College. It
is’ co-sponsored by the Grass Valley Elementary PTA and the Community Theatre of Nevada
County. The play runs for one hour and fifteen
minutes and admission is 25¢. There will be
three performances in the Hennessy School
auditorium at lla.m.,
on May 13th.
