Harbor? The Navy is inviting survivors and the next of kin
of the Navymen who lost their lives to the dedication of a

cannot provide transportation to the island, however.
FROM THE PAST..The Nevada City Nugget of Aug. 30,
1937 carried this headline: "Gold Price Safe, New Postoffice Sure Says Englebright"..We still talk about gold.
But in those days there was fear of a drop in the price of
gold, today there is only hope that the price may be
taised..we also still talk of new postoffices. .Business
volume in Nevada City is. going to make the expansion of
postal facilities a must in the next few years.. And things’
were much the same in the advertising field, too; -Alpha'

with the recommendation of
the California Districts Securities Commission which
suggested at a hearing April
27 that the NID increase the
bond issue authorization
limit from the requested $60
million to $65 million.
Increasing the bond issue
authorization limit has been
a policy of the Securities
Commission inrecent
months to insure. that distthat of the NID willhave
authorization from the
voters to sell sufficient bonds
to adequately finance the
project.
The directors approved
two resolutions Friday at
theirregular meeting. One
approved the 1963 modification plan for the district's
first refunding bond issue and
set $65 million asthe
amount of revenue bonds:to
be sold to finance the new
project.
The 1962 modification
plan is an agreement with
holders of NID first refunding
bonds, The agreement was
necessary to obtain permission of the current bond
» holders to allow the district
float the revenue bond
issue for the new hydroelectric project. Under the
modification plan, bond
holders grant permission for
the district to sell the revenue bonds and agreeto waive
contingentinterest coupons
ontheirbonds. In return the
NID will raise the interest
rate on outstanding bonds
from three to four percent.
In the second resolution,
the directors approved the
. feasibility of the project itself andspelled out the
method of financing the new
works, The resolution makes
‘itclearthat the project will
be financed entirely through
the sale of revenue bonds
with the issue being paid for
through the sale of hydroelectric power derived from
project works, It is noted
