The play is based on the old Narrow Gauge and will be presented the night of the Fourth of July in Nevada City as part of the annual celebration. Composer Bill MacSems is seated at the piano. Cecelia plays the part of CeeCee, a dance hall queen. Graham has announced that the surfacing of 2.3 miles of Mooney Flat Rd, in the western part of the county has been completed. The work extended north from the junction with Highway 20 at Hillcrest to the Englebright reservoir recreation area, Contractor for the $94,000 job was Baldwin Contracting Co. of Marysville. Tom Heather of Grass Valley wasresident engineer of the county and state. Work started last November but was delayed during the rainy season. Under separate contracts a portion of the grading was finished in 1960 and the Deer Creek bridge was built in 1956--both jobs a part of the stage reconstruction of the route. A part of the Federal-Aid Secondary System, the route is includedinthe state-wide program of improving these important county roads. The project was initiated by the Nevada County board of supervisors, and plans and specifications w ere developed under Graham's directionin cooperation with the State Division of Highways. " Since FAS projects are financed by federal as well'as state andcounty funds, federal law requires that FAS system construction in Nevada County be done by state
