(9 Stuart Flansburg Stuart Flansburg Is Named Nugget Advertising Manager Stuart Flansburg of Grass Valley was named this week as advertising manager of the Nevada County Nugget, according to publisher, Alfred E. Heller. Flansburg, 28, has been associated with The Nugget since 1961. Born in Glenns Falls, New York, hecameto California in 1950 and was graduated from Willow Glen High Scheol-in-San Jose.He served in the army intelligence in Germany from 1957-60. ° He attended San Jose City College and then attended San Jose State College from which he was graduated in 1963 witha Bachelor of Arts degree in advertising. During the summers from 1961 through his graduation from college, Flansburg worked on The Nugget advertising staff. He joined the permanent staff of The Nuggetin January of 1963 and has been in the field of advertising production since that time. Flansburg and his wife, the former Judy Johnson, live at 201 North School Street, Grass Valley. Liberal Arts Card Party Set The Liberal Arts Commission willsponsor a benefit whist party at 8 p.m. June 5 in the Nevada City Elementary School on Cottage Street. Sierra College Votes To Participate In Rocklin Study In an effort to encourage orderly development of the area around Sierra College, college trustees have votedto spend $500 as their share of aRocklin planning study. The board decision came after a conference with Roy Ruhkala, mayor of the city which adjoins the campus. In other board action the trustees rehired all teachers and noncertificated employes, gave tenure to seven instructors and placed administrative salaries on a ratio basis tied to instructor's salaries, Five administrators will be ranked 1.1 to 1.75 ratio to teachers pay, following the policy of 80 per cent of all California junior colleges, Merchants of the area have donated a generous array of valuable prizes. holder need not be present at the party-to win one of three door prizes. The prizes include a large toaster donated by Alpha Hardware, a decorative wall plaque donated by Marge Matusovic of Marge's Creations and a basket of groceries, Over sixty game prizes will be awarded, Bob Peterson will act as host for the fund raising party. All funds derived from the card party will be used by the Liberal Arts Commission for cultural and educational activities in the community.
