Sanford-Miller Wed In Nevada City
' Laura Susan Sanford became the bride of Richard Miller on Saturday, April 8, at the Trinity Episcopal Church, in Nevada City, The Rev. Donald Royer officiated at the double ring ceremony.
Laura Susan or "Suzy” as she is better known, is the daughter of Mr. Leon Sanford and the late Mrs,
(Marnie) Sanford .of Grass Valley. Mr, and Mrs, Max Miller, Sr., of Sacramento, former residents
of Grass Valley, are the parents of Richard, or "Rick" as he is known,
Suzy, escorted down the aisle by her father who gave her in marriage, was attired in a white cage
floor length dress of peau de soie with appliqued flowers and detachable train. Her five layered silk
illusion veil was shoulder length and secured by a crown of pearls,
EA ya bridal bouquet consisted of a butterfly orchid, accentuated with acouras lilies and lilies of the
valley.
Miss Joanne Sbaffi of Nevada City was maid of honor, Secondary attendants were Sally Sanford,
sister of the bride; Launa Miller, future sister-in-law of the bride, of Sacramento; Lanelle Smith of
Colfax; and Ann Phelan and Cindy Grothe of Grass Valley. All attendants wore floor length gowns of
pastel shaded crepe. Each attendant carried a topiary of chrysanthemums matching her gown,
Miss Kimi Ahrenholz of Davis, dressed in a yellow and white daisy embossed ensemble, carried out
the role of flower girl. ,
Max Miller, Jr., 01 Sacramento, was his brother's best man, Brian Sanford, brother of the bride,
John Paye, Pete Strohm, Bob Facchini and Jim Bagley, ushered the many guests into their seats,
Mrs, Evelyn Milton, the bride's representative, was ushered into the church wearing a brown and
orange print outfit and an orange cymbidium orchid corsage.
Mrs, Max Miller, Sr., chose a beautiful blue ensemble with blue accessories for her son's wedding,
An orchid corsage completed her ensemble,
Mrs, Evelyn Paye was organist for the service, : ——
Following the ceremony approximately 350 guests attended a reception at the historic Bret Harte.Inn
in Grass Valley where the Mmes, Charles K, Smith, Bruce Jensen, William Wilson, Harold Houser
and Arlie Hansen presided, An outstanding five tiered wedding cake on a triple base was cut by Suzy
and Rick and served to their guests, The usual wedding flowers were complemented with an array of
colored daisies throughout the banquet room,
After greeting their guests and receiving the best wishes and co
left on a honeymoon to San Francisco with Suzy donning a

bride attended the local schools and has been attending Sierra College in Rocklin,
The groom recently returned from the Air Force Reserves and will be employed in Sacramento when
not attending law school,
