CARBONADE A LA FLAMANDE .
That's just another way of saying ''Beef Stew" and the
following recipe ... which is French in origin ... has been
"translated" into a version rich and tasty, yet simply prepared,
Ingredients: 4 lbs. lean beef cut into 1/2 inch slices
1/2 cup cooking oil
1/2 cup flour
2 1b. lg. onions sliced
6 garlic cloves crushed
3 tblspns, dark brown sugar
1/4 cup red wine vinegar, or burgundy wine
1/2 cup chopped parsley
2 small bay leaves
2 tsp. thyme leaves
1 tsp, salt.
1 tsp. fresh ground pepper 2
2.10 1/2 oz. cans beef broth
2 12 oz. cans of beer
Dumpling batter
Preparation: Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Dredge beef
