Forty-eight Nevada County 4-H members and leaders saw the
old and the new in power generating equipment at the Pacific
Gas and Electric Company’s Drum Hydro-Electric plant on the
Bear River near Alta,
After touring the plant, the 4-Hers were shown a movie on the
4 H T different ways electricity is generated and used,
ia our Members attending were from the Alta-Oaks-Sunset, Banner,
Chicago Park, Kentucky Flat, Meadowlarks, Penn Valley, and
Woodchuckers 4-H Clubs,
Accompanying the members were 4-H leaders Robert Engblom,
Robert Butler, Norman Thompson, Bob and Pam Lester, Bill
Somers, Al Sears, Dan Bertoncini and Farm Advisor Les McCabe,
Gary Raine, P,G, & E, commercial sales representative made
the arrangements and was host on the tour, Gary is also the
4-H electrical leader trainer for Nevada and Placer Counties,
Nevada County 4-H'ers pose following a tour of the Drum HydroElectric plants. Tour host, Gary Raine, P.G, & E, commercial
