Golden Chain Chapter 219 met
at the Peardale-Chicago Park
Firehouse last Wednesday and
elected new officers as follows:
Wayrie Harvey president; Mrs.
Winifred Creegan, vice president; and Mrs. Toni Way secretary-treasurer.
Plans were made for a potluck supper to be held at the
home of Wayne and June Harvey. This was avery nice thought
from the new president as he
said beforehand: People who live
in mobile parks can call oneach
other and that way get acquainted, but mobile home owners
living on private property,
sometimes as much as 30 miles
apart can't do this. I myself
think this will be great help in
getting these members to unite
more closely. The potluck will
be held Saturday, November 16.

My daughter, Mrs. David Helton, has been visiting me this
past week, but has to go home
tomorrow as her husband has the
flu, It is always such a pleasure
‘to see our children, and we hate
to see them leave,
May Sanderson of Sp. 25 will
enter St. Josephs Hospital Sun_day for. surgery.on her hip, wish
she did not have to go to San
Francisco _as we would all love
to visit her, but I am sure that
our love and our prayers will
be there with her.
Al Anderson, Sp. 34, is home
from the Army and is. really
enjoying working again with his
beautiful show horse Moko Poco.
He plans on going after many
more trophies as soon as he
gets Moko Poco back in shape,
although he said today that after
all these months Moko ‘still
obeyed every command perfectly.

Stay Physically Fit And Trim All Winter
If you’re slim-and in good physical condition after
an active summer, physical fitness experts suggest that.
you maintain your fitness all winter long.
Start out the. morning with. calisthenics — sit-ups,
push-ups, deep knee bends and jumping jacks — exercises in which the whole family can participate.
Then go on to a breakfast of an artificially sweetened cereal like Quaker Diet Frosted Rice Puffs and
Diet Frosted Wheat Puffs: These cereals give you nourishment without any excess calories.
The Quaker Oats Company, national sponsor of all
physical fitness programs of the Amateur Athletic
Union of the U.S. (AAU), recommends exercise and
good food as an important combination in all physical
fitness and weight-losing programs.

CHP reports
‘When property is damaged
in a vehicle accident. in which
no one is hurt, the driver must
‘then and there’ either locate
and notify the person in charge
of the damaged. property of the
name and address of the driver
and owner of the vehicle involved or leave a note with that
information in a conspicuous
place on the vehicle or property
damaged," Lt, Axton of theGrass
Valley office of the California
Highway Patrol warns.
"This requirement applies on .
private property such as parking
lots the same as on the highway,"
Lt. Axton said.
"More than 170,000 property
damage accidents were reported
to the CHP last year. No one
expects to be involved in an
accident, but everyone should
be prepared to do the right
thing if he is involved," Lt,
Axton stated. "Failure to do so
might lead to a ‘hit and run’
charge."
If a "runaway" vehicle is involved in an accident resulting
in property damage the driver
who parked the vehicle must
comply with the same requirements for notifying. the owner
of the damaged property.
Or fish in it.
Or water-ski on it.
Or camp beside it.
Our lakes provide the water power to
make electricity for you.
But if a by-product of our facilities can
supply you with some.enjoyment, we’re happy
to have you use it, too. Like Lake Spaulding
(below), near Donner Summit.
All of our 145 PG&E-made lakes are
open to everyone whenever operations permit.
And we've built nearly 600 sites for picnicking, camping or just plain resting.
They’re all for your enjoyment. It gives
us a good feeling to know that when you aren’t
enjoying our power while away on vacation,
you may be enjoying one of its sources.
Go jump mn the lake.
