4 The Nevada County Nugget November 13, 1968 LaBarr Meadows roller rink has new owners La Barr Meadows Roller Rink popular recreation center for both young and old, isnow owned by Glen and Lucy Sanders of Grass Valley and managed by Harry and Erma Peart of Nevada City. Erma is_ half of the former "Keller Sisters", well known for their precision figure skating and appeared in the largest rinks while on tour of the U, S. Her father owned rinks in California and Oregon, Harry has been associated with two of the largest rinks in Southern California. Oldest daughter, Laurita, was the world's youngest skater when she was 15 months oldher skates and picture are On exhibit at the rink, Youngest daughter, Darlene, is in charge of the snack bar and son, Rodney, is in the armed forces stationed at Fort Bliss, Texas. Instructions are free and beginners are encouraged and instructed at all times, Classes in skate dancing are scheduled to begin in November free to all who wish to attend and learn the finer art of dancing on wheels.
