Mr. Caine’s Legree was well received, as was also Mr. Turner’s St, Clair. The characters of Eliza and Cassy were faithfully portrayed, and Georgie Caine acted the part of Eva admirably in her earnest, childish way. Miss Ryan, as Topsy, gave’a humorous impersonation of the role that kept the house in laughter and made her a prime favorite. The plantation songs by the quartette were -wetl rendered and encored. One of the salient features of the production was the scenery, which was elaborate and effective.
