An action against the City of
Nevada brought by several Coyote
Street property owners will go to
court Nov, 29 in Nevada County
Superior Court,
City Attorney William Wetherallinformed the city council
Monday night that the matter was
to be heard before Judge John F.
Keene of the Sierra County
Superior Court.

He noted that a substantial portion
of the projected park is in Forest
Service ownership whichcan only
be acquired through exchange.
This would acquire special
authorization for funds to purchase landrequested by the Forest
Service.
He noted a budget is prepared
for submission next year for
funding of interim projects in the
park so that development can
move ahead from project to project. Includedin this will be
funds for a second park ranger
and 24 months of day labor.

explained the proposed land use
map to the supervisors and outlined some of the planned facilities,
He said that the park at the
completion of the 20 year project
period will include 800 picnic
sites, 1,110 campsites, four
group camps, 20 miles of trails
and an administrative center.
Estimated cost for the total project is$11,500,000 and the park
will attract 775,000 people a
year. Expected to be an all year
use park, operating expenses will
be $477,000, park payroll
$285,000, gross receipts of
$282,000, Visitors to the park
are expected to put $2 million
into the local economy.
Hatchconcluded by saying that
his department is still very
enthusiastic about the park project.
