This is a cooperative program offered by the Nevada County Public Schools, Nevada County Health Department and the Tuculosis and Health Association of Nevada County. The test will be administered by the Nevada County Health Department. In some instances, stu~ dents will have to be transported to a nearby school for the test. Students in the above'categories will be given tuberculin test request forms tobe signed by parent or guardian and must be returned to the classroom teacher by November 6, 1964. Parental cooperation will be appreciated since this test is a safeguard for your child and the information regarding tuberculin sensitivity of this age group will be useful in planning future programs for the control of tuberculosis. The Nevada County school sys. tem requires that all school personnel present evidence of freedom from tuberculosis prior to employment and each two years for continued employment. School personnel due for tuberculosis clearance for 1964-65 term were offered’ the opportunity to have the tuberculin test at no cost on October 19, 1964. One hundred seventy three tests were given by the Health Dept. with Doctors Smith and Seolas as physicians. Positive reactors received chest X-rays. This program is for your children and is financed jointly by the Nevada County Health Department and your Christmas Seal Association, 3 Million In Visits To The State Parks The past year brought an increase of nearly three million visitors at 120 state operated units of California's state park system, the Department of Parks and Rec~reation reported today.
