Thornally graduated from Nevada Union High School twoyears ago and was recognized by the faculty asa gifted art student. With the help of the scholarship, he has been able to enroll in the art school this year and writes, “I'm now engaged in learning a new media, <3. It was to have been an organization made up of various groups associated with the arts---artists, dramatists, garden clubs, photographers and weavers, The organization did not take hold, the Nevada City Art Association being the most active surviving group, and the art association was given custody of the funds, association president Helen Bontecou said.
