Glenn Joseph Kerr, 24, Yuba City, driver of the vehicle which collided with a power pole on the corner of Spring and South Pine streets, was booked for investigation of felony drunk driving. His passenger, believed to be Pennie Westphal also of Yuba City, was taken to Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital by the Nevada City Fire Department Rescue Car. Later she was moved to the medical center. The Nevada City Police Department was the investigating and reporting agency. CHP Commissioner Walter Pudinski said that warning citations will be issued to drivers whose vehicles are over legal limits. No court appearance will be required by the citation but the driver must have the deficiency corrected within 14 days. The Patrol has been operating eight similar units during the past year.
