board meeting last Thursday set
in motion the machinery for selecting its 1969 officers, There
will be seven vacancies to fill
including the three new board
members to serve for 1969 and
1970, Present members of the
board who will continue to serve
through 1969 are Jack Bixler,
Willis Perry and Bert Spaite.
Thenominating committee for
this year is Helen Avery, Mary
O'Neal, Barbara Sailor, Marguerite Spaite, Jack Bixler, Roy
Bradley, Bill Cramer, and Willis
Perry. The program committee
will have an election meeting

the welcoming committee reported that she and Mrs. Doris
Bradley called on several new

Pomona Fair. A progress report was given by the president

accident just before school

completed. his test for a driver's license satisfactorily, but
he is still using crutches and

birthdays last Saturday October

Women (the "Fats") had a won
derful surprise party for them
on Friday.

At the Fire Dept. Auxiliary
meeting on Monday night Marie
Broadus, Dorothy Hicks, Noreen Harwood, Doris Bradley and
Mary O'Neal were appointed to
serve onthe nominating committee for 1969 officers, Joann
Stevens, Loana Tinsley, Mary
O'Neal, and Jane Walter are taking over responsibilities of welcoming our many new people in
the community. After this brief
business the evening was turned
over to Pat Litchfield who held
a miscellaneous shower for Mrs.
Claudia Moniz, new daughterin-law of Fire Chief Al Moniz
and wife Althea. Son Gary is the
new bridegroom. There were
about 15 guests present. The
evening concluded with games
and refreshments, served by
hostesses Jane Walter and Pat
Litchfield.

sponsoring a family party potluck dinner on Monday October
21 at 6:30 p.m. at the Grange
hall. Halloweén will be the theme
and costumes will be welcomed.
The St. Patrick's Church folk
singers will provide the evening
