treaty of peace in that it does .

merely an agreement to sus-_pend hostilities. In both the
_first and second World Wars,

the general conflicts ended.

decided to go to Expo ’67 in
Montreal, and go they did —
on bicycles. It was 3 2,800-mile
trip that took them across two
mountain ranges, seven states
and two Canadian provinces
on their 62-day journey.
The adventurous youths, both
entering their senior year in
high school, are Jerry Cullers,
of Renton, and Richard Scarlett, of Tacoma. Both boys have
been lifelong friends, having
attended the same school '
through the first six years.

World’s Fair. While the only
technical
difficulties
encoun
tered were a couple of flat tires
along
the
rough
route that
covered nearly 3,000 miles, for
14 days. the youths had to sit
around a tiny Montana town
while
Scarlett
nursed
per day. They slept out often
and endured heavy rains
without shelter.
One night, they found themselves guests in a-jail—.volun
tarily. — and they were often
invited“tp ‘spend the: night in
