October 19, 1966 Ridge Road Garden Club Tea And Table Setting Brings Out Beautiful Displays The autumn tea and table setting sponsored by the Ridge Road Garden Club was amended by approximately three hundred women who thorougfily enjoyed the task of inspecting and judging the beautifully set tables, . The winners were chosen by balNevada City Garden Club took first place with this table. Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital Auxiliary was third with this entry. Workers For Bizz Johnson Named Amy Nygard, chairman, and Roy Peterson, co-chairman, of the Nevada County committee seeking re-election of veteran Congressman Harold T ® (Bizz) Johnson, today announced the names of volunteers from throughout Nevada County who are aiding the Johnson for Congress campaign. “Bizz Johnson has served Nevada County and its neighbors for eight years as an effective working Member of Congress, ” Mrs, Nygard and Peterson said, “andwe are pleased to have the assistance ofa fine cross section of our area in our efforts to keep Bizz on the job for us in Washington. “ Congressman Johnson is seeking re-election in a campaign based primarily on his record of ser-, vice tothe people of the Second Congressional District and his broad legislative experience at local, state and federal government levels. Sales of chains, antifreeze and snow tires should be brisk as winter seems to be on its way. ees2 8 There was a good turn out for the “Fall Fling", the annual fundraising dinner put on by the PTA at the Crystal Bay Club last Friday nite. The winner of the $400 snow blower was Bud Eckerman of Truckee. Many other lesser prizes donated by local merchants were given away. Some of the other prize winners were Tom Bonano, Willie Curran, Nancy Cross, Hal: Drummond, Joe Jessee, Carson White, Melba Giovannoni, and Cy Armstrong, Everyone enjoyed the delicious buffet dinner.
