Directors have reviewed inquiries submitted from potential firms who want a variety of details concerning locating in this area, Downey Clinch said. However, occupied with their respective occupations they do not have time to pursue the information desired, he said. The chamber officials also heard that there have been complaints because bus loads of people coming to Nevada City cannot locate adequate rest room facilities. Mayor John Rankin told Clinch that the city con-. sidered the lack of facilities when it applied to EDA for a grant for parking, Because the grant is based on the tourism aspect of the city, EDA requires that rest room facilities be a part of the "package deal" in the application. In other action the chamber endorsed Terex Corporation's request for a use permit for a gravel operation on the Red CogYou Bet Road; The county planning commission last week approved the permit for five years. --Regretted that the Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital Auxiliary failed to have its annual autumn home and garden tour this year because of a shortage of available homes. The tour generally coinciding with the Nevada City Chamber of Commerce Trade Fair normally draws a number of visitors to the area, Hopefully homes can be open for a tour next year, directors said. Out of town people registered considerable disappointment the tour was not held this year, Clinch said.
