For False
Advertising

_ Richard Walter M. Walters,
Hayward and Grass Valley land
developer, entered
a plea of nolo
contendere to a charge of false
and misleading advertising last
Friday in Nevada County Superior
Judge Vernon Stoll sentenced
Walters to a fine of $250, sus
pended
a six month jail term and
placed him on two years probation.
Walters was charged with placing false and misleading advertising in newspapers about his sub
division Cascade Shores near
Scotts Flat Reservoir.
By pleading nolo contendere,
Walters doesnot admit guilt, but
subjects
him selftoconviction.
This does not preclude him from
denying the truth of the charges
in a collateral proceeding.
