Wheat, son of ‘Mr. and Mrs. Arthur E. Wheat of Grass Valley, has graduated with honors from Gunner’s Mate School at the Coast Guard Training Center, Governor’s Island, N.Y. During the 18-week course, he received instruction on the operation and maintenance of Coast Guard weaponry and related ordinance equipment.
