Tors has discarded the old method of training with a whip and
chair for what he calls “affection training.” He says that animals
raised from babies are easiest to work with. Many are trained with
sponge-tipped petting sticks gradually reduced -in length until the
trainer can stroke the animal with his bare hand. Tors adds, with
animals, you cannot love without touching.
