Town Talk
f+ + WO... The Nugget...October 26, i966,
Moment Of Truth...Big Red...
Parking Problem...Fund Drive
There was a lot of talk
several weeks ago about
a committee being formed to get together a big.
celebration to signal the
opening of the Broad
Street Bridge in Nevada
City.
Now we understand the
committee has hit a serious’ snag in their planning. The celebration idea
is still a good one, the
committee feels, but they
are now having 4 difficult time finding anyone
willing to be first one
across the new bridge.

ying property and homes

create parking for county
employees and courthouse visitors. But, if
not there, then where
else?
One person suggested
that the county and the
city should have tried
harder to find out when
the shop area of the Tahoe National Forest on
upper Commercial Street
might become available,
buta last check the Forest Service was uncertain
and could not see any
move from the site for,
at least five years.
Someone else suggested
it might not be a bid idea
to put upa multi-story
parking garage at the end
of Spring Street overlookirg the new freeway.
Since abl the fun and ex‘citement has been removed from Spring Street
and it appears pretty certain now that it will not
return, that piece of property might just as. well
be put to some other
good use.
