For-Luncheon Tomorrow
NEVADA CIT Y ---Biblical
costumes and menu will be
features of a luncheon to be
given by Saint Agnes‘ Guild
at Trinity Episcopal Church
tomorrow at noon,
Tickets are available from
any Guild member,
There will be a “marketplace” where hand-made articles and home-canned
foods will be on sale, Child
care will be provided in the
Eima Hecker Hall for preschool children.
Mrs, C. A, Bourland, Mrs.
H.W. Musser, Mrs, R.D.
Noble, Mrs, H.J. Ray and
Mrs, Leland Smith will appear in costumes duplicating
the colorful attire of Bible
women, The luncheon menu
has been planned to use only
those foods that were served
in Palestine in Biblical times.
At the program following
the luncheon, the guest
speaker will be Mrs, James
Neilson, Deanery Chairman
for the United Thank Offering.
Mrs, Leland Smith, president of St. Agnes’ Guild, is
general chairman for the
event. Assisting her are Mrs,
Richard Millin, in charge of
costumes, Mrs, H. J, Ray,
directing the luncheon preparations, Mrs, H. A. McPherson, chairman for decOrations, and Mrs, C,A,

DISTRICT GOVERNOR VISITS...Nevada
City Lions played host to District Governor Gordon Daniels of Sacramento last
week in the official’s annual visit to Nevada City. Daniels (center) shakes hands

the club's district looks on. Daniels congratulated the local club for years of com—
munity service and watched as InternationalCounselor Harold Houser of Grass Valley inducted three new members intothe
club (opposite page). Shown are Paul Bergemann Jr., Ejnar Beck, Houser, and
John Knudson. Daniels stressed the importance of international relations in his
. talk, and suggested that Lions clubs are
a natural force toward international unstanding.
