Seees Nine year old Leatha Welker(today's her birthday) who is following big sister Marcena'‘s footsteps, made her first ballet solo at a recital for patients at De Witt last week, After performing as rehearsed, Leatha and the rest traveled the corridors to perform in a ward where the patients were too sick to attend the regular performance, On arriving it was discovered they had left the record that Leatha danced to back at the Canteen. Rather than walkthat distance Leatha danced to another that she had never practiced, with Dorothy Harkins coaching from the sidelines, and put it over without a bobble. Marcena Welker is starting a new beginner's class (under the auspices of Dee School of Dance). This class, in ballet, tap, toe and Hawaiian willbe on Saturday mornings. Last Friday night nearly 100 people attended the fire shower for the Harris’. They were so touched by the response that it was very hard for them to speak, though words w eren ‘t neccessary.
