Any container bearing the official orange and black UNICEF sealis a fully authorized collection container even if it is not a milk carton, Last yearsome youngsters carrying mason jars were refused donations by persons who believed only milk cartons were accredited containers, The organizations backing the program are: Hennessy, Seven Hills, Nevada City Elementary, Bell Hill, Washington, Mt, St. Mary, Union Hill, Ready Springs, Gold Flat and Tall Pines Nursery Schools. Church organizations are: Emmanuel Episcopal, St. Canice Altar Society, First Methodist, Grass Valley, Nevada City Methodist, First Church of God, St. Patrick Altar Society, Methodist Youth Fellowship, Nevada Citv Bethel, Grass Valley Lutheran, First Baptist, Emmanuel Episcopal Young People, Trinity Episcopal and Campton~ ville and North San Juan Community Methodist Church. Other local groups sponsoring or endorsing the drive are: Grass Valley Odd Fellows, Grass Valley and Nevada City Lions, Rebekahs, Elks, Rotary Clubs, Nevada City Art Association, Grass Walley Business and Professional Women, Western Nevada County Soroptimists, Grass Valley Jaycees and Jaycettes, Nevada Co. branch of the American Association of University Women and Nevada City Women's Civic Club. The local planning committee for the campaign includes Mrs. Alfred Heller and Mrs. Merris Ingram co-chairmen; Mrs. Henry Roese and Mrs, Tyler Micoleau, co-chairmen, NevadaCity, Mrs. Theodore Kohler, treasurer and Mrs. Donald Hoagland, publicity. Elks Plan For Night Of Frolic Nevada City Elks and their wives and guests will frolic Saturday night in the lodgerooms in the annual renewal of Helldorado Night, designed this year as Flapper Times. The lodge will be flipping the calendar back to the gin-soaked era of beaded bags, footlong cigarette holders, coonskin coats, hand painted rain slickers, the Charleston, rolled hose and flat bosoms. Merchandise orders will be given to both women and men with the most authentic costume of the era between 1920 and 1930. There also will be a prize to the best performer of the Charleston, a dance which was every bit as vigorous as the pres~ent Twist. Dance music will be supplied by Ernie Harries and his combo. The Highgraders, a folk singing quintet’ will offer entertainment on the stage. The big dinner will feature prime ribs and everything that goes with it. There will be contests of all sorts for those not wishing to dance. The hosts are Mr. and Mrs. ? Herb Dodini.
