Partinton-Hurst Wedding
Held At Peace Lutheran
The Peace Lutheran Church was the locale chosen by Gigi
Partinton and Terril Hurst for their wedding September 16, The
Rev. Carl Sandbeck officiated at the double ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr, and Mrs, George J, Partington of Grass Valley Mr, and Mrs, W. B, Hurst of Fellows
are the parents of the groom.
A cage gown styled of lace featuring a sabrina neckline,
three-quarter length sleeves and hemline trimmed with bands
of satin, and flowing over a satin sheath underdress, was chosen
by the bride for her wedding day. A watteau styled detachable
chapel train, also bordered in the satin, fell from the shoulders,
A cluster of satin petals secured the bride's elbow length silk
illusion veil, She carried a bouquet of white roses and carnations,
Mr. Partinton, father of the bride, gave his daughter in
marriage,
Laurie Goldsmith was the matron-of hqnor, She was gowned
in a cage style of romance blue chiffon over satin featuring a
scooped neckline, three-quarter length sleeves with satin bands
borderin both the sleeves and hemline of the cage.
Linda Stark, the bird's cousin, Margaret Sheridan and Anne
Cassetari were the secondary attendants. They were gowned
identical to the matorn of honor, All attendants wore matching
headpieces and pumps. They carried bouquets of blue and white
carnations,Harold Dean Artz served as the best man, Brian Patrick,
Douglas Wheeler and Ken Matney ushered,
Mrs, Partington chose a gown of pale gold lace in a modified
cage style, with matching accessories, The-groom's mother wore
a gown of beige lace with matching accessories, Orchid corsages
completed their attire,
After receiving guests at the Alta Sierra Country Club, the
youn couple left for a honeymoon to San Francisco and Hawaii,
Upon their return, they will be at home in Taft, The new Mrs,
Hurst chose for her going away attire, a blue sheath with matching
accessories,
The bride graduated from Nevada Union High School and
completed theree years at the University of California at Davis,
The bridegroom graduated from Taft Union High School, Taft
College and the UCD, where he received his B.S, degree in
chemeical engineering. He is now employed by Tidewater Oil
Company.

The third annual Midvalley
Arts. and Crafts Show will be
held Oct. 7 through 13 under the
direction of the Marysville Art
Club of the California Federation of Women's Clubs, and sponsored by the Midvalley Savings
and Loan Association,
Among the counties entered
are Nevada, Butte, Colusa, Glenn,
Placer, Plumas, Sierra, Sutter,
and Yuba, The entries received
indicate there will be a good
representation from all areas,
The show will be open to the
public and may be seen at the
Yuba City office of the Midvalley
Savings, 800 Plumas Street.

Over 500 Reservations
For Mine Tour Saturday
"Over 500 reservations have
already been received, and they
are continuing to come in," said
George Brooks, reservations
chairman of the upcoming Annual Tour of the Mines this Saturday.
Brooks said that people "from
all over'"’ are making reservations for the tour inGrass Valley
and Nevada City.
Brooks. said that reservations
are being received daily "in
bunches" and that public response
has been surprisingly high.
The Grass Valley-Kiwanis
Club has arranged visits to many
of the famous gold mines that
still exist in the county.
These include--"TheE mpire,"
"Idaho-Maryland," "North Star,"
"Champion" and the famed Malakoff D
The tour will begin at the Nevada County Fair Grounds at
8:30 a.m, and continue until 3:30
p.m. Lunch, which will be provided will be served from noon
to_1 p.m,at the Empire Mine,
The lunch will consist of a
choice of beverage, fruit and
a "pasty," the delicacy made

Brooks suggested that those
going on the tour bring their
cameras and wear comfortable
shoes, Appropriate attire should
be worn, he added.
Cost of the tour will be $3 for
adults and $1.50 for children
under 12, Reservations may be

Jackie Kamberstad, carding a
276, was named new women's
champion following the final
round of the contest at Alta-Sierra Country Club.
Jackie defeated last year's
champion, Jan Pugh, who was
runnerup this year, turning ina

The President of the Rebekah Assembly of Califo Mr rnia, Ss.
Charlotte Taylor, made her official visit to Neva Rebekah Lodge
No, 119, Nevada City, last Tuesday evening. Noble Grand Jane
Elliott presided over the meeting.
Mrs, Taylor was accompanied and escorted by Irene Washburn of Upland, and Marion McKenan, of Palo Alto, the Marshall
and Conductor of the Assembly,
Other grand and past grand officers escorted to seats of
honor were: Mr. Ted S, Ede and Mr. Edward Wolff, both past
Grand Masters of the state of Nevada, and Mrs, Ruth Ede, past
president of Nevada,
The District Deputies were escorted and introduced, Committee members and presiding offiecrs were also introduced and
welcomed,
Officers and members from Esther, Naomi and Manzanita
Rebekah Lodges in this district, as well as those from lodges
