Ralph Pyle, who plays French
‘Horn with the Quintette, was
awarded his Bachelor of Science dgree from the University
of California at Los Angeles,
and did graduate work at the
Juillard School of Music. He
was solo horn with the New
York Woodwind Quintette, and
a member of the Casals Festival and Columbia Symphony
orchestras. He is currently on
the faculty of the Claremont
Colleges.
In-addition to the Los Angeles
Brass Quintette, the concert association will offer a varied
program throughout the season
with concerts by the Dobaker
Trio with harp, flute and viola;
The San Francisco Virtuosi Orchestra, under the direction of
Laszlo Varga; and a song recital by .soprano Edith Zitelli.

Bellevue area east of Newport
Hills in that area.
Baima was reared in Newcastle when the town was alive
and booming and was the son of
one of the coal miners.

The quintette consists of
Thomas Stevens, trumpet, who
earned his Bachelor of Music
' degree at the University ofCalifornia in Los Angeles. Stevens
played solo trumpet with the
United States Military Academy
Band at West Point, after which
he joined the Dallas Sympnony
Orchestra. He is currently on
the faculty of San Fernando Valley. State College and the University of Southern California.
Mario Guarneri, also trumpet, was graduated. from the
. University of Southern California cum laude with a Bachelor
of Music degree in 1964, He
received his Master of Science
degree from the Juillard School
of Music in 1966. He is now .
on the faculty of Claremont Colw leges in Claremont, California.
Roger Bobo, tuba, received
his Bachelor of Music and Master of Science degrees in 1960
and 1961 from Eastman School
of Music, Rochester, New York,
and was a tubaist with the Rochester Philharmonic and Rochester Smyphony orchestras,
. At the age of 22 he performed
his first tuba recital in Carnegie Hall, New York. In 1965
-he was a soloist with the New
Philharmonic Orchestra of London. at -St. Pancreas Art Festival, That same year he was officially recognized by the British
. Broadcasting Corporation as a
} tuba soloist.
