Supervisors Table
Proposal On Zoning
Nevada County's Board of Supervisors Tuesday tabled for further study a proposal for a new
zoning concept which would allow agricultural
districts tobe combined with other zones. Action on the proposal was held over to next Tuesday.
This new zoning classification, which would
allow combination of agricultural. with other
zones, would also eliminate: agriculture asa_
separate zone. Instead, agriculture would have
a "U" or unclassified zone.
The proposal also redefines several terms.
It also spells out minimum restrictions on building sites, R-l use of back yards.
The proposal is in the form od an amendment
tothe zoning code now in effect. The new classification is also connected to the controversial”
Bitney's Springs rezoning, but Bitney's was not
the subject of Tuesday's hearing. The proposal
for Bitney's is to zone it to a combined district,
so a hearing cannot be held on it unless the
supervisors put the combined zone into the ordinance.
