Sa NUMBER 82 ~ VOLUME 49 10 Cents A Copy Published Wednesdays, Nevada City ~ Sept. 13, 1972 2,500 sample ballots mailed; special votes The county clerk's office has mailed a total of 2,500 sample ballots for three separate elections slated for Sept. 19. The Pleasant Ridge and Union School districts are holding special elections to select a member for their respective governing boards. The terms both expire June 30, 1975. William Charpier, Jr. and Charles F, Mildred are vieing for the vacancy in the Union Hill District. Jim Dunbar, Ruth Lockyer and Marietta B, Stone are the three candidates for one spot on the Pleasant Ridge board. Voters in the San Juan Ridge County Water District will vote on a $400,000 bond issue. If approved the bonds would pay for construction of the water system including diversion dams and headworks, a storage dam and dikes and spillway, water transmission ditches, a water treatment plant and other appurtenances.
