Idea Shop Opens Second Year Of Classes In Arts And Crafts _ Thesecond year of successfully offering interesting hobby classes of the Nevada County residents is now under wav at The Idea Workshop 239 Commercial Street, Nevada City. ‘Some of the classes offered last year will continue again this year, and several new classes will be offered. The classes will start the week of September 12, Marge Kopp will continue teaching the oil painting classes, A class for men only will be held at 7:30 p,m. on Monday, Ladies classes will be held at 10:00 a.m, and 7:30 p.m, on Wednesday. Josephine Pease will teach a watercolorclass at 9:00 a.m, on Monday,, Mrs, Pease,, weil. known Nevada County artist, will also teach Japanese brush painting in this class, Margaret Hamblin will instruct the chair caning class at 2:00 a.m. and 7:30 p.m, on Thursday. Mrs. Hamblin requests that anyone attending this class use the antique chairs with the holes already in place, This has become a popular hobby since antique furniture is so much in demand at the present time, Sam Hinsman will teach an upholstery class at 7:30 p.m, on Tuesday, Hinsman owns a successful upholstery business in the county, and has previously taught upholsteryin the Bay Area, Tole painting will be taught byBetty Woods in a class on Tuesday. This type of painting is done on metal containers, and Mrs, Woods teaches both the traditional early American patterns aswellas contemprary A beginning and an advanced class will be offered in Crewel embroidery, tobe taught by Lanrel Stackpole, who formerly taught in Nantucket, Mass,. Traditional crewel stitches and patterns aretaught in the beginning class and designing original patterns is taught in the advanced class, This class This class changes days to-accommodate the members who enter.
