Plan Cleanup
The Nevada City Garden Club
plans to spearhead a campaign}
to clean up the busniess section
in Nevada City and replace shade
trees which have been removed.
The drive was discussed during
a recent dessert lunch in the home
of Isabel Tourtellotte.

When he stopped mowing his
lawn to drive away his young
son’s saddle horse he tripped
over the grass catcher and fell
behind the horse which alarmed
by the quick movement, kicked
him in the mouth. The blow
knocked him unconscious and he
was found in a pool of blood by
young Ricky a few moments later
and.he. was.rushed.to.a. doctor.

traveling to Sacramento on
motorist swerved abruptly in
front of them and their car overturned. Mr. Atchinson was not

was taken first to the Highland
Hospital in Auburn and then
transferred to Sutter Hosjital in
Sacramento. Her daughter Mrs.
Anita Buddle came up from Oakland to be with her mother who
is reported to be slowly recovering from the shock.
Harry Russell Prentiss 69, resident of this area for the past 17
years, died suddenly at his home
here Wednesday. His passing was
a shock to his friends and felatives, as he had not been known
to have a bad heart. He is survived by ‘his wife Elsie, his
brother George of Los Angeles;
two sisters, Mrs. Grace Marshall
of Vernon, New York, and Mrs.
geles; two sons and a daughter,
riet Gordon, all of British Columbia, and six grandchildren.
Graveside funeral services
were held Saturday morning at
10 o’clock in the North San Juan
Cemetery, with Rev. Robert W.
