being exhibited at The Gallery
on Commercial Street in Nevada
City.
Norman Grag studied at the
College of Arts and Crafts in
Oakland and later studied anthroer

fountain for the Wells Fargo Bank
building on Capitol Mall in
Sacramento and has also done a
number of ecclesiastical art
pieces in the Sacramento area.

Crocker Art Gallery,

be held from 1:30 to4 p.m.
Sunday in The Gallery.
The Gallery is open Wednesday
through Sunday from 1:30 to
4 p.m.
Annual Grass Valley
Camp Stew Is Set
For September 12
The 82nd annual camp stew of
the Grass Valley Sportsman club
has been scheduled for Sunday,
Sept. 12 at the Lions Lake picnic
grounds.
The event has traditionally been
a homecoming for old timers,
but in recent years has brought
out many younger m embers of the
sporting community.
The day starts early with an old
fashioned breakfast. Lunch is
served at 1la.m, and the afternoon is spent in trapshooting, and
other games until the serving of
the campstew at 3:30 p.m.

Two Nevada County residents
have been named as winners in
the handwork division of the home
economics competition at the
California State Fair, Edward
Lynam, exhibit supervisor in
c harge of woman's activities,
announced last week.
Mrs. G. W. Bazeley, Grass
Valley, took seven first place
awards with her entries in the
infant bootees, infant cap, crocheted infant carriage robe,
crocheted infant jacket, crocheted infant set, hand-knitted
gloves and hand-knitted infant
jacket.
She also won one second place
award with a hand-knitted stole
entry and two third place awards
for a hand knitted infant set and
a hand-knitted infant cap.
Robert S. Trower, Truckee,
took first place honors with his
