LEGAL NOTICE LEGAL NOTICE LEGAL NOTICE LEGAL NOTICE Two Truckee NEWSPAPER EXCERPTS IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF NEVADA STATE OF CALIFORNIA Present: Mrs. Dean Lawrence, County Counsel Mr. John T. Trauner, Clerk The meeting was Called to order at 10:45 A.M. by order of the Chairman. The. following Supervisors were noted as present: Gene M. Ricker, W.W. Bishop, Neil R. Hennessy, Donald C. Blake, and H.G, Loehr, Chairman. Upon motion, duly seconded, the minutes of the previous meeting were approved. Mr. ‘Marcus Phelan, Grand Jury Officers Committee Chairman, appeared before the Board with regard to the Grand Jury's recom~mendation that the position of Controller be established in the County of Nevada. Mr. Phelan was informed that this matter would be discussed by the Board on October 13, 1964. Upon motion, duly seconded, Resolution 64-152 (A Resolution appointing election officers and polling places in Nevada County to be used for the General Election on November 3, 1964) was adopted. Upon motion, duly seconded, Resolution 64-153 (A Resolution directing the Clerk to canvass the results of the General Election of November 3, 1964) was adopted. A motion was made by Supervisor Bishop, seconded by Supervisor Blake, and passed unanimously to rescind the motion creating the position of Stenographer III in the Clerk & Auditor's Office as made on September 15, 1964 and retaining this position as a Stenographer II. Upon motion, duly seconded, the Clerk was directed to issue a Minute Order tothe County Counsel requesting said Counsel to prepare the necessary Resolution of Intention, to be presented to the Board on October 13, 1964, said Resolution setting a Public Hearing for the change of Road Name from Chicago Park Access Road to Lakewood Lane. Public Hearing to be set for November 2, 1964. Mr. Delmar Bennetts, Grand Jury Welfare Committee Chairman, appeared before the Board with regard to the Grand Jury's recommendation that closer interest in the Welfare Department by the Board of Supervisors be employed. He further stated that he had reportedtothe Grand Jury that the Board had appointed a Liaison Officer for this purpose, and the Grand Jury further requested that a more personal interest of each Board member concerning the Welfare Department be taken. No action was taken by the Board at this time. Upon motion, duly seconded, Ordinance 300 (An Ordinance of Interim Emergency amending Ordinance No, 196 of Nevada County) was adopted, Upon motion, duly seconded, Resolution 64-155 (A Resolution authorizing the Chairman to execute a Contract between the County of Nevada and the Metropolitan Electric Company with regard to the Loma Rica Airport Construction Project) was adopted. Upon motion, duly seconded, Resolution 64-156 (A Resolution accepting the grant offer of the Federal Aviation Agency with regard to the Loma Rica Airport Construction Project) was adopted, Mr. Downey Clinch, a member of the Airport Commission, appeared before the Board and thanked the Board for their patience with regard to the Loma Rica Airport Construction Project, Mr, Clinch then introduced Mr, Charles V. Litton whom the Board thanked for his participation in the Airport Construction Project. Upon motion, duly seconded, the Board adjourned to meet again on October 1, 1964.
