PLACERVILLE — The Nevada
Union Nuggets snapped a
10-game losing streak with a
come-from-behind 14-6 victory
over El Dorado Friday night.
A hard hitting defense led
by Dave Phelps-and Dave Yocum
tied -up-E1 Dorado, holding the
Cougars to a 6-0 lead going
into the final quarter.
Midway in the final quarter,
a punt exchange gave the Nug“géts good field position on. the
El Dorado 32-yard line.
Freshman quarterback Dave
Rayburn moved the Nuggets on
the ‘ground to the three, -Ken
Slattery punched over for the
score, A Rayburn pass for the
two point conversion put the
Nuggets ahead 8-6.
El’ Dorado was on the move
until Yocum picked off a pass,
giving Nevada Union possession
on its 42,
