Loma Rica pipeline
%
oe .
LOMA RICA pipeline construction is taking place on the Colfax Highway. The Nevada Irrigation
District project is part of its Pavis-Grunsky domestic water line work which was approved
by taxpayers in 1969, The new pipeline is being installed from the Loma Rica Industrial
Park through Cedar Fidge, Union Hill and Grand View Terrace and east along the highway
to Peardale. The contractor is W, Jackson Baker of Redding. When completed the new line
will improve water pressure to these areas and give better fire protection. Next year constructiofi of the new Loma Rica treatment plant is slated to start and this pipeline system will
be tied into the new plant. In photo above NID inspector Harry Thomas checks the work of
the contractor. Total cost of this construction phase is $407.000 and completion is scheduled for December.

The news from around the
valley is rather scarce this
week, with the coming of the
cooler weather, I don't see
as many people out as I used
to. Bob Thomas did get his
fence all painted before we .
got ours done and I'ma little
envious. Hisplace really looks
super. He's started on his
barn for Julie's horse and
he'll no doubt have that done
before you can blink an eye
too. Cliff and Joan Haynes
over on Quincy Lane are busy
with the construction too, they
are adding a garage and acouple of bedrooms and a playroom to their horse and so
far it looks good. Mel and
Blanche Bemus, down the
street from us are going to
be moved into their house before the rains. They arereally busy people. Daughter Melva and son-in-law Gene were
here for a few days this past
week to give Mel and Blanche
a hand with the work.

Puppy Day at the Dillberg
house was last Wednesday.
Cinnamon presented us with
four adorable minidachshunds.
Three girls and one boy. They
are hand size right now but will
grow very rapidly. The father
of these cuties is Hubert Humphrey, and he belongs to Jerry
and Carole Turk of Indian
Springs Road, Mini dachshunds are born with squashed
noses and no ears to speak
of and they don't really resemble a full grown Dachshund at
all. The nose and the ears
grow later.

spent an enjoyable afternoon
at thé Alta Sierra Country Club

Band, the Bavarians from Sacramento playing and they were
excellent. I hope this Oktoberfest idea catches on up
here, the German people are
a gay people and their music
is so refreshing to listen to.
