A 42YARD RUN..by John Paye, No. 16 of Nevada Union brought the Miners to their Closest chance
of scoreiny against the Chico Panthers in an extremely rugged game which N.U. lost 7-0. The Miners
displayed fine defense in holding the powerful Panthers to just one-tuchdown but poor offensive blocking by N.U. stymedandscoreing attempts. This Friday night in another home game, the Miners meet
the C.K. McClatchy Lions, a perpetually strong team defensively and offensively.

“Turnout” Law
Not Respected
Many motorists are not
complying with the “turnout” law on two-lane highways, reports Lt. Wallihan
of the California Highway
Patrol.
“Reports from the mountain areas of California show
that a large number of driyers are not yet acquainted
with this provision of the
law, even though it has been
in effect for almost three
Pyears, and applies to automobiles as well as commercial vehicles,” Lt Wallihan
said,
The turnout law requires
“Slow moving vehicles, behind which five or more
vehicles are formed in line
to turn off the highway at
the nearest place designated
as a turnout” to permit the
cars being held up to pass.
Lt. Wallihan said the law
defines a slow moving vehicle as “one which is proceeding at the rate of speed
less than the normal flow
of traffic at the particular.
