2 Wagon Train Rolls
The annual Reno to Truckee
wagon trek sponsored by the
Truckee Donner Horsemen's Association will start today under the
leadership of wagonmaster James
McIver.
The covered wagons, horsemen
and camp followers were scheduled to assemble today at the
fairgrounds in Reno for the start of
the trip.
The march is scheduled to start
tomorrow with a parade through
Reno, The first camp will be near
Verdi, Nev. The train is expected
to.reach there about 4 p.m.
Saturday the wagon train will
proceed over the old Dog Valley
trail to Woodchopper's Springs
where camp willbe set up for the
public open house, Lions Club
breakfast and a series of games
and events through Sunday.
' Monday the “pioneers” will
break-camp and continue over
the old Donner Trail to Donner

Headquarters was announced today by John P. Vukasin, Jr., State
Vice Chairman. The offices will

for Goldwater-Miller in the 45

The California Highway Patrol
announced today that a civil service examination for State Traffic
Officer will be held throughout
California on November 7, 1964.
The examination will be open
to men between the ages of 21
and31, inclusive, who meet the
requirements in regard to educa~
tion, citizenship and residence,
physical condition, and charac~ter.

95804, Final date for filing applications for the examination is
October 9.
THE FIRST FALL show and reception of the Nevada City Artist's
Gallery Sunday afternoon was attended by about 75. A large number
ofthe group came from out of town to see the paintings and sculpture in the one man show of Richard Hornaday of Redding. Hornaday's “Five Seated Figures” shown above is one of the works which
will be on display at the gallery through September 30.
