MIDPOINT OF THE DRIVEWAY. WHERE THE DRIVEWAY EXCEEDS
800 FEET, TURNOUTS SHALL BE PROVIDED NO MORE THAN
400 FEET APART.
TURNOUTS SHALL BE A MINIMUM OF 10 FEET WIDE AND 30
FEET LONG WITH A MINIMUM 25-FOOT TAPER ON EACH END.
THE TOTAL ROADWAY WIDTH, IN THE AREA OF THE TURNOUTS,
IS 22 FEET. THIS INCLUDES 20 FEET OF DRIVING SURFACE
AND ONE-FOOT SHOULDERS ON EACH SIDE.
B. ALL—-WEATHER DRIVING SURFACE IS ANY SURFACE THAT IS

SURFACED ROADWAYS ARE PREFERRED. THE MAXIMUM ACCEPTABLE
GRADE IS 20 PERCENT. HARD SURFACED ROADWAYS ARE
REQUIRED FOR GRADES IN EXCESS OF 16 PERCENT.
C. DRIVEWAYS SHALL BE CONSTRUCTED IN SUCH A MANNER AS TO
PROVIDE VEHICLE ACCESS WITHIN 50 FEET OF THE NEAREST
PORTION OF ALL RESIDENCES.
D. MINIMUM VERTICLE CLEARANCE FOR ALL ACCESS ROADWAYS SHALL
BE LESS THAN 15 FEET.
E. ALL DEAD-END DRIVEWAYS THAT EXCEED 400 FEET IN LENGTH
SHALL BE PROVIDED WITH APPROVED TURNAROUNDS LOCATED
WITHIN 50 FEET OF THE STRUCTURE, TURNAROUNDS MAY BE

OR SIMILAR PLANTS WHICH ARE USED FOR GROUND COVER. THESE
REQUIREMENTS DO APPLY IF SUCH VEGETATION FORMS A MEANS OF
RAPIDLY TRANSMITTING FIRE FROM GROUND VEGETATION TO TREE
CANOPIES.
G. THE ROAD IMPROVEMENT FEE, IN ACCORDANCE WITH NEVADA COUNTY
ORDINANCE NO. 1637 CREATING AND ESTABLISHING THE AUTHORITY FOR
IMPOSING AND CHARGING A ROAD IMPROVEMENT FEE WITHIN THE
UNINCORPORATED TERRITORY OF NEVADA COUNTY, WILL BE LEVIED, AND
WILL BE BASED ON THE LATEST FEE SCHEDULE ADOPTED BY THE BOARD
