The Risrriate: Bee keeps its eagle
eye on the State’s law-makers. It has
madé this discovery: When the
twenty eighth session of the California
Legislature convened, there wai a
Contingent Fund. of $30,000 to its
credit—$18,000 for the Assembly and
$12,000 for the Senate. When this fact
became known there was an whparalleled raid on the State’s strong
probably during the present week—a
bill will be introduced asking for -a
still farther appropriation with which
to carry on the Legislature. Up to
date the Senate has drawn $9,090 40,
leaving only $2,909 60 in its Contingent
Fund, and the Assembly has drawn
on its Contingent Fund for $8,455 80,
