In Sunday last, John Webster, wliile
engaged in mining iagravel claims
owned by himself, Oetzman and Wood,
on Rock Creek, was caught by a boulder and crashed to death. Webster &
Ovtzman-were engaged in running a
cut, and a large boulder becoming ansafe on the bank, they attempted to
prop it up. While they were so engaged the rock split, and a piece which,
it is estimated weighs five tons,, fell
upon Webster, Ovtzman who was
working with him atthe time, being
unable to do anything, called assie~
tance, and the body was extracted.—
The breast was crushed in, and death
must have been imstantaneous. The
deceased was un old resident of Nevada
and much esteemed by those who knew

tract of land containing 40 acres, (lying directly North of said East half of Lot 7%.) being in
